Data integration: synchronisation, governance and security

In this interview, our CEO explains Satisco’s approach to heterogeneous systems integration, data synchronisation and access control in large organisations.

In an interview with Kanaal Z, our CEO set out where we sit in the market and what makes us a partner large companies come back to on data integration, data transformation and securing information flows.

We joined the Alan Allman Associates ecosystem in 2015. Since then we have supported large organisations through digital transformation programmes by keeping data coherent and secure as it crosses their systems, which is usually the part nobody costed.

Integrating heterogeneous systems

What we bring is an understanding of several heterogeneous systems at the same time, which is the normal condition inside a large organisation. Financial data, business data, structural data, protocol data: the technologies we work on handle a wide range of formats and transformation standards, and we have used them on all of these.

What makes us different is the ability to synchronise very different systems while keeping them reliable and fast.

Alain Kunnen

That addresses the problem most organisations actually have, which is not integration in the abstract but interoperability and flow continuity in an ecosystem that keeps getting more complicated.

Access to sensitive data

As security and regulatory compliance became strategic rather than technical questions, we started deploying data virtualisation to define and enforce access rules rather than trusting each application to behave.

It is no longer only about protecting data. It is about making sure the right people reach the right information at the right moment.

Alain Kunnen

That is governance rather than security in the narrow sense: traceability, transparency and access control, so that trust in the system is something you can demonstrate rather than assert.

Who we work with

Mainly banking, insurance and industry, where data quality and system reliability are not preferences. Interoperability, security and governance are what let a large organisation get value out of its own data instead of spending the budget reconciling it.
